Chess clubs in Fellbach and its districts 3

Fellbach, on the eastern edge of Stuttgart, has a club in the town itself and clubs in its districts Oeffingen and Schmiden. Schachverein Fellbach 1928 holds its club evening on Fridays, with a special date on the second Friday of the month, and plays in the district class of Stuttgart-Ost. Schachklub Schmiden/Cannstatt, which carries Bad Cannstatt across the city boundary in its name, has teams in the Baden-Württemberg league and the Landesliga and invites to open blitz tournaments on Friday evenings through the winter.

Schachfreunde Oeffingen field a team in the Bezirksliga and organise the Oeffinger Open, a rated open in the Festhalle Oeffingen in late spring that anyone may enter; it stands in the tournament list. Waiblingen, Kernen and Remshalden, further up the Rems valley, carry the chain of clubs on to the east.
